Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge

Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge has been committed to supporting and strengthening the lives of children, individuals and families through direct services and positive social actions since 1955. Programs are provided to more than 14,000 families and individuals each year in a ten parish area: East Baton Rouge, West Baton rouge, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Iberville, Livingston, Ascension, Point Coupee, St. Helena and St. James.

Celebrate the Family Award Nominations

On November 4, 2010, Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge will honor four exceptional families from our community at the 17th Annual Celebrate the Family Gala. The families are nominated by the community and selected from a committee of volunteers based on their experiences in one or more of the following areas: overcoming adversity, community service, personal faith or the highest levels of continued love, caring and respect within their family unit.

The “Special Family” awards recognize the importance of healthy families, whatever the structure, and their role in caring for each other as individuals, as family members, and as members of our community.

Selected families will be honored at our Seventeenth Annual Gala, Celebrate the Family, to be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at White Oak Plantation.

Ways to Work: Cars to Success

Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge is pleased to announce their new social enterprise, Cars to Success, a vehicle donation program!

Please consider donating your Used Car to Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge. By donating your vehicle, you will recieve a tax benefit while the proceeds are invested in The Ways to Work Family Loan Program at Family Service.

The donated vehicle will be repaired and sold at a modest cost to the community. This will help eliminate transportation barriers in the Greater Baton Rouge and surrounding areas as well as help support an agency that has been serving the Greater Baton Rouge community for 55 years.
