Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge hosted the 16th annual Celebrate the Family gala at White Oak Plantation on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Five outstanding and diverse families from our community were honored at this very special event who have overcome severe adversity or contributed through their volunteer efforts to strengthen the community: Michael & Elain Ellerbe The gala featured catering by Chef John Folse, a Dream Vacation raffle, silent auction and a special video of our Oustanding Families produced by LPB. Through the support of the community, we are able to hold this event each year in recognition of the importance of “family.” The contributions received from this event will help support Family Service of Greater Baton Rouge and its mission of supporting and strengthening the lives of children, individuals and families through direct services and positive social actions.
