Education & Training Vouchers (ETV) PDF Print E-mail
The Education & Training Voucher Program is designed to assist current and former foster youth in accessing post secondary education and training programs. Youth are eligible to receive up to $5,000, per year, in assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses.

Youth who are eligible:

  • Youth participating in CFCIP/ ETV services on their 21st birthday and making satisfactory progress toward completion of the program
  • Youth adopted from foster care between the ages of 16 and 23 years old
  • Former foster care recipients (under the age of 23) who aged out of foster care with OCS or OYD and are enrolled in post secondary education or training programs

Institution’s Eligibiliy:

  • Admits only students with a high school deploma or equivalent
  • Awards a bachelor’s degree or has a two year program that provides credit toward a degree
  • Public or non-profit
  • Accredited or preaccredited
  • Provides no less than one year of training toward gainful employment
  • Admits only students beyond the age of compulsory school attendance

Applicant’s Enrollment Status:

  • Full time student
  • Maintains a 2.0 GPA or higher

The ETV will not affect the student’s eligibility for the amount of the Pell Grant or any other federal assistance.
