Manage Your Mental Health

Manage your Mental Health.  It's a priority.

It is important to manage your mental health and support others this holiday season. The holiday season can bring up a range of emotions, both positive and negative, based on unrealistic expectations associated with this time of year, which can have an impact on your mental health. It is important to make time for yourself through self-care. Practicing stress management techniques can help you maintain healthy habits and set boundaries to avoid unnecessary stress. We provide individuals, health care providers and professionals a better understanding of how to manage their mental health as well as support others during this holiday season to have a positive outlook.

What is Seasonal Affective Disorder?

Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, is type of depression. It happens during certain seasons of the year—most often fall or winter. It is thought that shorter days and less daylight may trigger a chemical change in the brain leading to symptoms of depression. Light therapy and antidepressants can help treat SAD.
